April’s Month in Green unpacks the last four weeks of events and announcements which culminated in an avalanche of new policy plans unveiled by the government.

Powering Up Britain included a series of initiatives that aim to scale up green industries, improve energy security, and deliver on Net Zero targets. In a similar vein, the Mobilising Green Investment: 2023 Green Finance Strategy outlined a plan to increase the flow of private investment towards achieving environmental objectives. In this report, we cover the expected impact of the policy updates on the property sector.

Also featured is an additional roundup of green news, including an update on energy efficiency funding (such as the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund), the Climate Change Committee’s biennial adaptation report, and newly enforced commercial Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES).
