Emma is a sustainability consultant with particular expertise in food waste and the circular economy. Emma previously was International Partnerships Director with FoodCloud, she has also been a member of the EU Platform for Food Loss and Waste and served as a board member for the European Food Bank Federation.

Together, Emma and Orla discuss topics including food waste, the circular economy, sustainable development goals and industry action towards sustainability.

Episode 8: Green bonds with Matteo Bigoni

How can a bond be accurately verified as a green bond? And what’s the role of data in this?

In this episode of KammaKast, Kamma’s CEO and Co-Founder Orla Shields is joined by Matteo Bigoni, Head of Taxonomies at Climate Bonds Initiative (CBI).

Matteo previously worked as Head of the Certification at CBI, managing the Climate Bonds Standard and Certification Scheme. He worked with many green bond stakeholders including external reviewers, government agencies, potential issuers, and development banks.

Together, Matteo and Orla discuss how green bonds are qualified as green and how data is needed to better qualify assets as green and measure progress towards a carbon neutral future.

How do voluntary carbon markets work as a climate solution? And how have they developed over recent years?

In this episode of KammaKast, Kamma’s CEO and Co-Founder Orla Shields is joined by Ted Christie-Miller, Head of Carbon Removal at BeZero Carbon.

Ted leads the research, ratings and partnerships team for engineered carbon removal at BeZero Carbon. The BeZero Carbon Rating provides users with a risk based assessment for understanding and interrogating carbon credit performance of any type, in any sector and country.

Together, Ted and Orla discuss how carbon markets can be improved or expanded upon in order to more effectively address climate change.


Episode 10: Impact Investing with Bella Landymore

What is impact investing and how has it developed over recent years?

In this episode of KammaKast, Kamma’s CEO and Co-Founder Orla Shields is joined by Bella Landymore, Policy and Strategic Director at The Impact Investing Institute. Bella started working for the Impact Investing Institute as Policy Director at its launch in November 2019. She is currently the Policy and Strategic Director and leads several of the Institute’s projects, particularly in the areas of policy, regulation, and pensions. 

Bella joined the Institute from the UK government’s Inclusive Economy Unit, where she was a Senior Policy Advisor on impact investing. In this role, her projects included the Law Commission’s review of pension funds and social investment, and the subsequent policy and regulatory changes, and the Implementation Taskforce on growing a culture of social impact investing in the UK. Bella started her career in the charity sector before joining UBS Investment Bank, where she worked in New York and London, latterly as an Associate Director for their equities trading businesses

In this episode, Bella and Orla discuss how impact investing has developed over the last couple of years and how the Impact Institutes contribute to growing the impact investing market.
